i thought it'd be nice of me to go and visit my family Before I leave France again, so i caught a flight from London and landed here, So Far Away from civilization that my phone doesn't get any signal.
french countryside freaks me out.
my cat is so thrilled to see me that she feeds me with birds she hunts twice a day. true love, i know. you wouldn't believe how many feathers a small bird, like a siskin or a greenfinch, has.. thousands!! and they're all over my bedroom, twice a day. mmmmh, this is such fun..
there's about 20 cm of snow so i'm stuck at home. i pretend to loooove walking the dog in the blizzard in order to have a smoke (yay, i'm still hiding my smoking habits from my parents.. please, don't call me 'pathetic'..) but truth is it's so incredibly freezing that my fingers are this close to fall out before i even find my lighter. fuckin nightmare.
oh, i almost forgot! the house boiler broke down yesterday. winter, no heat, no hot water. that's just great. i stay in a 1 meter perimeter around the fireplace with my laptop and my cat on my knees, counting the days to NY and wondering why why whhhhyyyyy ME..?!?
on the other hand, it's a good thing the weather is so bad so my mum realised quickly enough she'd forgotten to put her trousers on when she went out shopping this morning. sadly, i'm not joking and my mum's not on drugs.
the last but certainly not the least: i had dinner with my sister (the one who's not on FB so you don't know her).
the story goes like this:
she - so i met this guy in july and we started dating in november and i'm moving in with him this week-end..
i - wow, don't you think that's kinda fast?!
she - well that's what everybody tells me, but anyway.. i thought i'd ask you to be my maid of honor.. what do you say?
i - ... are you saying you're getting married with a guy you didn't know like 6 months ago?? this is insane..
she - hey, i'm already engaged! do you like my ring?? i chose it myself!
i - you gotta be kidding me...
she - also erm.. we're planning to conceive a baby in the following months...
i - whaaaaat?? are you out-of-your-mind?!? and by the way, i don't mind the maid of honor thing but don't even think of asking me to be a godmother of some whining baby of yours!! and who's that dude anyway??? how old is he?? and what do you mean by 'the following months'???
she - well, you know.. 'the following months' means like Spring, maybe Summer? we'll see.. and he's 34. he's born in 1975, August 21. hold on, not August 21 coz i was in rehab in August but i remember i was invited to his birthday party... so i guess that must be July 21.. something like that.
